Structures built as a team

Ignacio Nicolini joined Keypro with a degree in structural civil engineering from Universidad de Chile and early experience tied to the field and to construction. Today, just over a year after joining the team, he is an active part of the structural development of projects where detail, coordination and technical judgment make the difference.

In his role, Ignacio works on defining and designing structural solutions that support disciplines such as mechanical piping and hydraulics. His work covers warehouses, platforms, retaining walls, foundations, steel supports and various reinforced concrete and structural steel elements, which must respond not only to calculation requirements but also to space constraints, existing conditions and the changes typical of industrial and mining projects.

His work calls for constant dialogue with other disciplines, reviewing layouts, adjusting designs and adapting to modifications that have a direct impact on the structural solution. That constant interaction is an essential part of the process: the structural team does not work in isolation, but in coordination with the other disciplines, supporting the project as a whole.

One of the things he values most about Keypro is the real chance to grow and take on increasingly complex challenges. A clear career path, technical mentoring and the trust of the team have allowed him to move quickly from narrower tasks to projects that demand greater judgment, analysis and professional responsibility. That progression —which he has also seen in colleagues— confirms to him that growth here is concrete and visible.

Ignacio particularly highlights the Keypro culture: a close, flat and collaborative environment, where you learn by talking, asking and working with people from different disciplines, ages and backgrounds. The combination of technical knowledge and young drive is, in his view, one of the team’s greatest assets.

Outside work, he finds balance in reading, nature and travel. He has fond memories of a family road trip through Italy and Europe, visiting cities such as Genoa, Pisa, Rome and Venice, an experience that broadened the way he looks at the spaces and structures people live in. At home, switching off comes with his three cats —Alfonso, Nala and Princesa— a key part of his daily routine.
