Stories that build culture
Culture and Talent
When Francisca Gajardo joined Keypro almost two years ago, she brought with her a career shaped by strategic communication: she studied Journalism at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso and then completed a Master’s in Strategic Communication at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
But what drove her was not only her training, it was the chance to build something new.
Fran arrived at a company where the technical world dominates the conversation and where the communications function was only just taking shape. Creating a space of her own in that environment took more than knowledge: it took sensitivity, persistence and the ability to connect people with purpose.
She soon discovered that Keypro had something special: a culture where collaboration comes naturally, where leaders keep their doors open and where treating people well matters as much as the projects. In that environment, Fran began to position the value of communicating strategically, helping every team understand its impact on the business and projecting the company’s identity inside and outside the industry.
A woman opening the way in an industry that is changing
Although engineering and mining have historically been male-dominated sectors, Fran has seen real change. At Keypro, women make up more than 30 % of the workforce, and for the first time there are women in deputy manager roles.
For her this is not just a figure: it is a sign of progress, of female talent making its way and of an industry starting to reflect the diversity it needs.
Balancing, leading and building equilibrium
Motherhood added another layer of challenge. But with flexibility, a hybrid format, childcare and a team she can rely on, Fran has managed to balance leadership and family without giving up her professional development. She knows it is not easy, but she also knows that at Keypro it is possible.
And there is something she repeats with conviction: to sustain the pace and the demands, having a hobby is essential. In her case, her HIIT classes are that space of her own, a reminder that well-being is something you train too.
A story that reflects who we are
Fran’s story is not only that of a head of communications. It is the story of a woman who builds, drives change and opens paths. And it is also the story of a company that bets on people, on diversity and on a culture where everyone can grow.
At Keypro we do more than engineering. We create a place where people can develop, lead and live in balance.
